Supports SPF alignment: Yes (dedicated subdomain)
Supports DKIM alignment: Yes
DMARC requires the domain in the “From” address of the email (what the recipient sees) to match the information authenticated by SPF or DKIM. This is called DMARC alignment.
Certain email service providers require bulk email-sending domains to authenticate their emails with both SPF and DKIM, in addition to configuring one of these authentication methods for DMARC alignment. You can read more about these bulk sender requirements here.
Configure email authentication for Synchro
DKIM Configuration Steps
Start by heading to the Admin on the Synchro platform page, scrolling down to the Email section, and clicking Verified Domains.
Next, you will land on an index page that will eventually display any verified Domains you have configured. For now, click New Verified Email Domain in the upper right.
You will now be prompted to enter a domain you want to verify.
Once you press the Create button, Syncro will begin creating DNS record values. This is usually pretty quick, but can take up to a minute or two.
Once the records are created, you will see some values in four columns. You may notice that the records say Not Verified, but don’t worry, that’s the next step.
The first CNAME record is the dedicated subdomain that will be used by Synchro, and it needs to be published in your DNS Host. The next two CNAME DKIM keys:
If you are an Enforce or Align user and your domain's SPF and/or DKIM records are pointed to Valimail, follow the steps below to add these records to the domain configuration in Valimail:
Add a Synchro DKIM key in Valimail
Publish the DKIM key record in Valimail following the steps from the article below.
If you are leveraging your DNS for the DKIM records, publish the last two DKIM CNAME records in your DNS host.
After all 3 records have been published, you are ready to verify the Domains, go back in the Synchro platform and click Verify DNS Records in the upper right of the page.
After you click the Verify DNS Records button, Syncro will begin processing the DNS validation request. This can take up to a few minutes to update.
Once the records verify, you will see green check marks in the Verified column.
Now, when you head to the Verified Domains page from Admin, you will see a Domain listed and Verified.
You’re all set! Your outgoing mailboxes in Syncro associated with the Verified Domain you have configured will now pass DKIM and DMARC checks.
