How to set up DMARC for Ascend By Wix in Valimail

Updated over 6 months ago
SPF(supported)
DKIM(recommended)

This article covers the SPF and DKIM authentication processes for Ascend By Wix and how they are managed in Valimail. While only one of the two authentication methods is required for an email to pass DMARC, our recommendation is to configure both whenever possible.

Configuring DKIM authentication for your Ascend By Wix emails

To setup DKIM for your Ascend By Wix emails, please follow the steps outlined below:

  1. Go to Email Marketing in your site's dashboard.

  2. Under Sender Details at the right, click Add Details.

Note: If you've previously entered an email address, click Edit Details instead.

  3. Enter a From name in the field. Recipients see this name as the email sender.

  4. Enter a Reply-to email. Use the email address that is connected to your custom domain.

  5. Click Save.

  6. Confirm your email address by entering a confirmation code. The code is sent to the address you just added. Paste the code into the field and click Confirm.

  7. Once your email is confirmed you will see 'Not authenticated' under Domain status. Click Authenticate this domain.

A list of CNAME records opens. This is the information you need to copy and paste into your external domain provider settings. Keep this information available as you move to the next step.

NOTE: If you manage you domain in Valimail, you will need to add the _domainkey CNAME DKIM keys on your domain's configuration page in the Valimail platform and the other CNAME record/s will go in your DNS.

Once you've copied the DNS records over to your domain provider it can take a few hours for the records to propagate and the authentication to be completed. If you don't see it, allow up to 24 hours for the authentication to be completed.

You can always check the status of the domain in your Email Marketing dashboard under Sender Details. Refresh the page to see Domain status.
