This article covers the SPF and DKIM authentication processes for Meltwater and how they are managed in Valimail. Because this service leverages Sendgrid's email infrastructure, it requires additions to your DNS records outside of the Valimail platform. Adding Meltwater as an authorized sender in the Valimail platform usually requires a dedicated subdomain to be pointed to the Sendgrid infrastructure and typically the DKIM keys will be added in the Valimail platform.
Configuring DKIM authentication for your Meltwater emails
There are three main steps to set up these records:
1. Request your records within the platform.
2. Ask your IT Specialist to update the records within your email.
3. Your Domain status within the platform has changed to Verified.
Within the platform, select Settings from the left-hand side navigation bar.
Select Approved Senders.
If you do not have any Approved Senders listed and no details under the Domains section, please add your work email address as an Approved Sender.
If you do have 'activated' Approved Senders, select the Configure Domain button on your Domain which is unverified.
Your specific CNAME records will open in a new page, and the URL can be sent to your IT specialist. CNAME records will house both SPF and DKIM records.
4. Meltwater will issue 3 CNAME records.
If you manage your DKIM keys in Valimail Enforce, you will need to add the 2 CNAME DKIM keys in your domain's Configuration page in Valimail. The 3rd CNAME record needs to be added in your DNS. See example below:

5. After all 3 DKIM records have been properly added in their respective management zones, check the status within Meltwater. Please note it can take 24-48 hours to update.
6. Within the platform, select Settings from the left-hand side navigation bar.
7. Select Approved Senders. Your domain will change to This Domain has been verified.
