Marketer Role: Overview and Setup

Updated this week

Overview

The Marketer role is designed for users who need access only to BIMI-related features, without exposure to broader administrative, security, or enforcement functionality in the platform.

This role is ideal for marketing, brand, or design stakeholders who work specifically with brand indicators, logo visibility, and campaign insights, while keeping account administration and technical controls restricted.

What Access Does the Marketer Role Have?

A user with the Marketer role can access the following BIMI-focused features:

  • Amplify – Manage and monitor BIMI enablement and logo display

  • BIMI Simulator – Preview how BIMI logos render across supported mailbox providers

  • Audience Insights – View BIMI-related performance and audience metrics

  • Inspiration – Explore BIMI examples and brand inspiration

What the Marketer Role Does Not Have Access To

Marketers cannot:

  • Manage account settings

  • Invite or manage users

  • Modify domain authentication or enforcement settings

  • Access non-BIMI security or compliance features

This ensures marketers have the visibility they need without risking unintended configuration changes.

Who Can Invite a Marketer?

Only users with the Owner role can invite and assign users to the Marketer role.

If you do not see the option to invite a Marketer, verify that:

  • You are logged in as an Owner.

  • If you are a Member type user, reach out to the account Owner.

How to Invite a New Marketer User

Follow the steps below to add a new user with the Marketer role:

  1. Go to Account Settings in the top-right corner of the page.

  5. Fill in the invite form with the First Name, Last Name, and Email.

  6. Click Invite at the bottom.

Once invited, the user will receive an email invitation.

Assigning the Marketer user to a Team

Inviting a user as a Marketer does not automatically grant visibility into domains and data in Amplify. To ensure the Marketer can see the correct domains and related insights, an Owner must add the user to a team and explicitly assign domain access.

Follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Teams section.

    Teams
  2. Click on the Team you want to add the Marketer to.

  3. Click Add Member.

  4. Select the Marketer user from the list.

  5. Go to Org Domains.

  6. Add the domains you want the Marketer to have access to in Amplify.

Once these steps are complete, the Marketer will be able to view data for the assigned domains in Amplify.

Summary

  • Marketer is a restricted role focused exclusively on BIMI features

  • Access includes Amplify, BIMI Simulator, Audience Insights, and Inspiration

  • Only Owners can invite Marketers

  • Team assignment works the same as for Member type users

If you need to grant broader access later, the user’s role can be updated by an Owner at any time.
