How to use the BIMI Simulator and the the BIMI Audience Insights tools

Updated over 2 weeks ago

BIMI Simulator

BIMI, or Brand Indicators for Message Identification, is an email authentication standard that allows companies to display their logo next to their email in the recipient's inbox. This helps to increase brand recognition and trust for the recipient.

The BIMI Simulator is a tool that allows you to simulate and visualize how your company's logo will be displayed to recipients of BIMI-compliant email providers.

By using the BIMI Simulator, you can make any necessary adjustments to your logo before implementing BIMI.

Using the BIMI Simulator

In your Valimail account, click BIMI->Simulator from the left-side navigation menu. Fill in the required field and click SIMULATE.

The following fields are available:

  • Company Name - Your company's name

  • Email Address - The email address most commonly used for your marketing campaigns

  • Logo - Your desired logo in SVG, PNG, or JPG format. The simulator accepts any of these files, but there are certain requirements your logo must meet to be officially accepted for your BIMI configuration. More information about these requirements can be found here.

  • Competitor's Domain - This is an optional field that can be used to include your competitor's current BIMI logo in the final result. This helps you explore whether they have implemented BIMI, providing valuable insights into their email branding strategy and enabling you to compare their logo with yours.

The simulation result should look like the one listed below. You can then download the image and start over using a different logo or competitor domain.

BIMI Audience Insights

The BIMI Audience Insights is a tool that allows you to visualize the breakdown of outbound mail that your organization sent to mailboxes that support BIMI in the past 30 days.

Using BIMI Audience Insights

In your Valimail account, click BIMI->Audience Insights from the left-side navigation menu. Select your domain from the Domain drop-down. Only domains that point their DMARC record to Valimail will be available for this feature.

Brand Impressions provides a breakdown of emails sent to providers that support BIMI vs those that don't. Generally speaking, if most of your mail is sent to BIMI-compliant mailboxes, implementing a BIMI logo is a very effective way of improving your brand recognition.

Top BMI Mailbox Providers is a more detailed view of the various email service providers that receive your emails and are BIMI-compliant. Emails sent to these mailboxes will have your logo displayed once it has been set up.

The list of email providers that support BIMI can be found here.
