How to Point BIMI to Valimail

Updated this week

This process should be completed for each domain you wish to manage within Valimail Amplify®

Please make sure you've added all of your existing BIMI records to Valimail before making this configuration change.

To manage BIMI records through Valimail for your domain, please add the following NS record for the '_bimi' subdomain to your DNS:

Record Type: NS

Hostname: _bimi.{domain}

Value: ns.vali.email

In case your DNS host does not support custom NS records, use the following CNAME record instead:

Record Type: CNAME

Hostname: default._bimi.{domain}

Value: default._bimi.{domain}._bimia.vali.email

Replace {domain} with your own domain name.

We recommend a TTL of 300 seconds; however, using a longer TTL (up to 3600 seconds) should be acceptable if you wish to reduce the load on your DNS server.

Please note that because of existing DNS TTLs, it may take some time for Valimail to detect that you've updated your DNS with the correct settings.

To verify that your domain’s BIMI record is correctly pointing to Valimail, log in to Enforce and navigate to DOMAINS in the side menu. Select your domain from the list, then click CHECK DNS. If you see a blue checkmark next to BIMI Record, the record has been published correctly.
