Updated over 6 months ago
SPF(supported)
DKIM(recommended)

This article covers the SPF and DKIM authentication processes for Active! Gate SS and how they are managed in Valimail. While only one of the two authentication methods is required for an email to pass DMARC, our recommendation is to configure both whenever possible.

Configuring DKIM authentication for your Active! Gate SS emails

DKIM can be configured from the Active! Gate SS administrator screen.

Please refer to the setting method below.

[Step 1]

Access the Active! gate SS administrator screen and click [User Management > DKIM Settings] on the left menu.

[Step 2]

Select the domain for which you want to set up DKIM in the [Target domain] item, and click the <Create> button in the [Public key/private key] item.

[Step 3]

Automatically generated DNS record information will be output in the [▼Public key DNS record] section, so please register the DNS record output on the target domain's DNS.

NOTE: If you manage you domain in Valimail, you will need to add the DKIM key/s on your domain's configuration page in the Valimail platform.

[Step 4]

Once the public key DNS record information has been registered on the target domain's DNS, click the <DNS Confirmation> button.

After clicking the <Confirm DNS> button, when the message "Public key has been confirmed." is displayed, proceed to step 5.

[Step 5]

In the [DKIM signature] item, select "Use" and click the <OK> button at the bottom of the screen.

[Step 6]

Click <Reflect settings> at the top right of the screen.

[Step 7]

Try sending an email from the target domain to a receivable email address.

If the header information of the received email received via Active! gate SS contains the DKIM signature given by Active! gate SS, the DKIM settings are complete.
