How to set up DMARC for Campaign Monitor in Valimail

This article covers the SPF and DKIM authentication processes for Campaign Monitor and how they are managed in Valimail Enforce. While only one of the two authentication methods is required for an email to pass DMARC, our recommendation is to configure both whenever possible.

Configuring DKIM authentication for your Campaign Monitor emails

1. Set up the domain you want to send from in your web host.

2. In Marigold/Campaign Monitor, click your profile image at the top right, then click Account settings.

3. Click Sending Domains.

4. Click Add domain.

5. In the Domain field, enter a fully qualified domain name, for example, Authenticating a second level domain (for example, will not authenticate its subdomains. Once you have entered your domain, Continue.

6. You now need to add the generated DKIM key in Valimail.

7. Once you have added the records into your DNS, go back into Marigold/Campaign Monitor and click Authenticate now at the bottom of the screen.

You will see a confirmation message once the domain has been successfully authenticated. The next time you create an email campaign, you will be able to select your authenticated domain when defining the sender.

Once you establish that Campaign Monitor is an authorized sender for your domain, you will need to add the service in your Enabled Senders.

Note: We encourage you to use the comment section for any useful information about your sending service, such as the name of the service owner, change request ticket numbers, etc.

Note: Marigold does not send SPF aligned emails by default.
