Introduction to Valimail's Instant SPF Solution

What are Custom Directives?

The Sender Policy Framework (SPF) is an email authentication protocol used to detect and prevent email spoofing by allowing domain owners to specify which mail servers are authorized to send emails on their behalf. An SPF record consists of directives, mechanisms, and qualifiers that assist email receivers in verifying if incoming mail from a domain comes from a legitimate host authorized by the domain's administrator.

In Valimail Enforce we manage this email authentication protocol using our Instant SPF technology, which is built on a part of the SPF standard called macros. Valimail's patented instant SPF response returns only the specific and targeted response needed for a given email-sending service that has been enabled by the customer to send on their behalf. Our catalog contains thousands of sending services, with more being added every day.
