How to set up email authentication for Commerce7

Updated today
Supports SPF alignment: Yes (dedicated subdomain)
Supports DKIM alignment: Yes

DMARC requires the domain in the “From” address of the email (what the recipient sees) to match the information authenticated by SPF or DKIM. This is called DMARC alignment.

Certain email service providers require bulk email-sending domains to authenticate their emails with both SPF and DKIM, in addition to configuring one of these authentication methods for DMARC alignment. You can read more about these bulk sender requirements here.

Commerce7 uses Sendgrid under the hood.

Sendgrid typically uses a dedicated subdomain for DKIM and SPF configuration.
Commerce7 setup documentation can also be found here.

5. In the pop-up modal, you will see the new entries+values. You will also see 'Unverified' to the right of the values, which is expected.

6. Add the generated Records to your DNS.

If you are pointing DKIM to Valimail, records c7 and c72 will be published in Valimail.
The emXXXX.example.com will be published in your DNS.

If you already have a DMARC record, ignore the _dmarc.<domain.com> TXT record provided by Commerce7, and do not publish it.

7. Once you publish the 2 DKIM keys (c7 and c72) in Valimail Enforce and the 3rd CNAME record (i.e. em9702.example.com) in your DNS host, return to the DKIM and DMARC Setup page in the Commerce7 console and click Verify DNS Settings.
