How to set up DMARC for Atera in Valimail

Updated over a week ago
SPF(supported)
DKIM(recommended)

This article covers the SPF and DKIM authentication processes for Atera and how they are managed in Valimail. While only one of the two authentication methods is required for an email to pass DMARC, our recommendation is to configure both whenever possible.

Configuring DKIM authentication for your Atera emails

1. Once you have set up email forwarding within Atera, select DKIM domain verification (Recommended) from the options under Outgoing Email Domain.

2. Click Get Records.

The DKIM CNAME record window appears.

3. Copy the three keys provided and enter them in your domain's DNS provider. The process for adding the keys may vary depending on your provider. The links provided below will guide you through the specific steps for some popular DNS/Hosting providers.

NOTE: If you manage you domain in Valimail, you will need to add the 2 CNAME DKIM keys on your domain's configuration page in the Valimail platform, while the 3rd CNAME record will go in your DNS.

4. Click Update to save your changes.
