How to set up DMARC for Follow Up Boss in Valimail

Updated over a week ago
SPF(supported)
DKIM(recommended)

This article covers the SPF and DKIM authentication processes for Follow Up Boss and how they are managed in Valimail. While only one of the two authentication methods is required for an email to pass DMARC, our recommendation is to configure both whenever possible.

Configuring DKIM authentication for your Follow Up Boss emails

A. To access your DNS records in Follow Up Boss, go to Admin > Email Domain Authentication.

Note: This tab is only available to the owner and admin users. Please reach out to an admin on your team to obtain your DNS records.

B. Claim your Domain to generate DNS records

C. You can copy each record into your domain records, if you are updating them yourself.

You can also email them to your IT personnel/the owner of the domain, if someone other than you will be completing the rest of these steps.

These records are public domain, so it's ok to send them over email and share them with agents who need to authenticate domains they own.

NOTE: If you manage you domain in Valimail, you will need to add the TXT DKIM key on your domain's configuration page in the Valimail platform, while the rest of the records will go in your DNS.

The status will show "Pending" in Follow Up Boss until your domain host updates your new DNS records globally, which usually takes up to 24 hours. FUB will check every hour to see if your domain's records are updated, and automatically update the status to "Verified" when the changes are detected.
