How to set up DMARC for Laposta in Valimail

Updated over a week ago
SPF(supported)
DKIM(recommended)

This article covers the SPF and DKIM authentication processes for Laposta and how they are managed in Valimail. While only one of the two authentication methods is required for an email to pass DMARC, our recommendation is to configure both whenever possible.

Configuring DKIM authentication for your Laposta emails

1. Go to the Authentication page in your Laposta account

Go to the Access & Subscription β†’ Settings β†’ Authentication page. Here you can see the domain name (or names) that you use as the sender address in Laposta.

2. View the instructions for your domain name

Click on 'Show instructions'. In the block, two lines of text are now shown behind the bullet points. These lines of text are automatically generated based on your domain name (so you only see an example below).

Tip: If you click on the 'Activate' button in this step, you will see even more instructions!

3. Make sure your DKIM records are added in your DNS.

NOTE: If you manage you domain in Valimail, you will need to add the DKIM key on your domain's configuration page in the Valimail platform.

4. Activate the new settings in your Laposta account

If the records have been added to the DNS of your domain, you still need to activate this in your account in Laposta. To do this, go to the Access & Subscription β†’ Settings β†’ Authentication page. You click on 'Show instructions' again. The 'Activate' button will then be shown. Click on the button and your domain is authenticated.

You will now see a confirmation (as in the image below) that the authentication is active and you can send campaigns from the sender address for which you authenticated the domain.

Once you establish that Laposta is an authorized sender for your domain, you will need to add the service in your Enabled Senders.
