This article covers the SPF and DKIM authentication processes for Mailchimp and how they are managed in Valimail.

Note: Be advised that multiple users can use the same domain for sending DMARC authenticated messages via Mailchimp. Each User needs to access the account independently and enable the Authentication and Domain Verification.

Before you can setup DKIM for your domain in Mailchimp, you will need to verify your domain within the Mailchimp platform. Please see this article on How to verify your domain in Mailchimp.

After your email domain is verified, you will then need to enable DKIM for your domain in Mailchimp.

1. Click the Website icon.

2. Click Domains.

3. Click Start Authentication next to the verified email domain you want to work with.

4. Choose your domain provider from the dropdown and click Next. If your service or software is not listed, choose Other.

5. In a separate browser window or tab, navigate to your DNS host and find your domain's records.

6. After you find your domain's records, navigate back to Mailchimp and click Next.

7. Follow the instructions for creating new CNAME records. These values will be customized for your domain and the service you are using. Copy the values for your new records and paste them into the appropriate fields for your domain.

8. Copy the values for your new records and add the DKIM keys in Valimail Enforce.

9. When you're done, click Next.

Once you establish that Mailchimp is an authorized sender for your domain, you will need to add the service in your Enabled Senders.

Note: If you add Mailchimp in your Enabled Senders list in Valimail Enforce, the k2 and k3 DKIM keys will be added in the DKIM managing section of your domain's Configuration page.

Note: We encourage you to use the comment section for any useful information about your sending service, such as the name of the service owner, change request ticket numbers, etc.

Your email domain will be authenticated as soon as Mailchimp can confirm your records are updated and correct.

When authentication is successful, you'll see the Authenticated label next to the domain on the Domains page in your account.

Once your domain is authenticated in Mailchimp, the emails sent with MailChimp on behalf of your domain will start to be authenticated with DKIM.
