Domain Executive Report

This article will explain the Domain Executive Report as well as give recommendations based on its information

Updated over 2 weeks ago

The Domain Executive report is a feature available for all packages of our product Enforce. This feature is similar to the Account Overview feature however it is centered around an individual domain and goes more in-depth into the wins/positives of the specified domain. It is intended to provide a quick recap of all the value provided by Valimail for a specific domain in a selected month.

In fact, the Domain Executive Report page can be found in the main dashboard right under the Account Overview page:

The Domain Executive Report is meant to showcase the overall status of a chosen domain in a specific calendar month. To do so, select the domain and date from the top of the page then click "APPLY".

If the selected date is the current month, the page will show only the data we ingested from month to date.

The page is split into four sections:

"Email Insights" will show the total email volume sent on behalf of your domain during the specified time as well as the number of emails that passed and failed authentication. It will also specify the DMARC policy currently set on the domain. If the policy is "None" and the DMARC pass rate of the domain is 95% or higher we recommend switching to enforcement for better protection. If the DMARC pass rate is under 95% we recommend reviewing the traffic in the "Authentication report" of the domain to see what senders are not authenticated. If you discover a failing sender that is legitimately used to send emails on behalf of your domain, you may check our Knowledge base for steps to configure it for DMARC.

"Enabled Senders Insights" provides you insights into the 3rd party senders that you allow to send email on your behalf. This will show the top 3 sending services by volume that are enabled under the domain as well as how many of your enabled senders were used in the specified month and how many are passing DMARC. If some of those senders are not passing authentication we recommend reviewing their DMARC configuration by referring to our Knowledge base. If you believe the configuration is in order we recommend reaching out to our capable support team!

"Suspicious mail stopped by Valimail" showcases a global view of all the suspicious emails that Valimail has protected your customers from. This is shown in a world map with different shades of red depending on the total email volume of each region. We consider suspicious traffic emails that are failing DMARC and are being sent by a nonreputable sender.

If the domain is not at enforcement, this section will be called "Email Authenticated by Valimail" and will showcase traffic that passes DMARC authentication instead.

"Domain Insights" provides you with a list of all the features currently in use for this domain.

This list may include:

  • DMARC Pointed to Valimail

  • DMARC Record is Syntactically Valid

  • SPF Record Pointed to Valimail

  • DKIM Record Pointed to Valimail

  • DMARC is at Enforcement

  • BIMI Enabled

  • Service Authentication

  • Internal Service Visibility

  • Microsoft/Google Integration

Finally, this page also has a "Print PDF" button. We recommend the following print configurations for the best visibility:

Pages: "All"

Layout: "Portrait"

Paper size: "Letter"

Page per sheet: 1

Margins: "Minimum"

Scale: "Default"

Headers and footers & Background graphics: "Enabled"
